Machine Learning Engineers at CoStar play an important role in this process, by mining data from sources including billions of pageviews, millions of images, vast geographic data, deep property content, and much more. We enhance our extensive property database, personalize our customers’ experience on our product websites, and create innovative datasets and forecasts that are the industry standards in our market leading products.
We are searching for a Computer Vision/Machine Learning Engineer to join our collaborative group that includes a mix of big data, API, and full stack development teams. We are growing rapidly to help invent the future of Real Estate, with Data Science playing a critical role in that growth.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on the continued improvement of CoStar’s cloud-based machine learning environment.
- Design, build, train, deploy and evaluate machine learning models that handle large amounts of data.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, and leadership to create ML solutions that solve practical problems and improve our customer’s experience.
- Gain an understanding of the CoStar business and how ML can improve things.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college, with degree preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Mathematics. MSc or PhD is a plus.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers.
- Experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Scikit-learn.
- 6+ years of professional development experience as Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist or related role.
- 6+ years of programming experience with modern languages such as Python, R, C#, Java, or Scala.
- Work experience with Image Classification, Image Processing, Object Detection, NER, or Recommendation Systems.
- Experience with automated image optimization (e.g., sharpness, brightness, etc.) and the ability to understand and improve image/video aesthetics is a plus.
- Experience building data pipelines to collect data, train and test models, measure model performance, run inference on large datasets, and output results.
- Experience with data manipulation and visualization libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, or Plotly.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with databases, such as SQL Server, AWS RDS, DynamoDB.
- Experience with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs).
- Experience solving streaming and batch data processing problems at scale.
- Experience with ML cloud tools such as Databricks, Amazon Personalize, Comprehend, SageMaker, and Rekognition.
- Experience with integration of input data from a variety of sources.
