We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team at Builders Capital. The Senior Tax Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing state and local tax-related activities for all 50 states, ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements, and implementing tax strategies to optimize financial performance. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations specific to the financial sector, along with exceptional analytical and leadership abilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Main purpose of this role is to manage state and local tax compliance for all 50 states.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in state and local tax laws and regulations relevant to the financial industry and assess their impact on the organization.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external auditors, and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related matters.
- Represent the organization in tax audits and inquiries from regulatory authorities, ensuring all documentation and responses are prepared accurately and timely.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the tax function.
- Day to day accounting functions as necessary.
- Ad hoc projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in tax accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax issues and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
