We are seeking an ambitious Vice President of Business Development with significant leadership experience to join our innovative and hard working team. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A successful candidate is self-motivated, organized, and able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Working with a wide variety of individuals and personalities, being able to adapt to different communication styles is key. Additionally, a successful business development candidate will understand and communicate our partnership needs as a nationwide service provider.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Oversee the management of the assigned Sales team(s). The responsibility involved personnel management to ensure that work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
- Design, develop, and update the appropriate sales strategies to enable new business opportunities and general revenue. This includes collaborating with both complement and adjunct staff to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company's division of sales.
- Oversee and analyze operating costs within functional area(s). This includes the input and maintenance of related budgets and G&A expenses.
- Provide creative and innovative methods of acquiring new business, which is not limited to: identifying, engaging, and acquiring new opportunities through lead generation and education of services offered.
- Ensure team revenue goals are met each month while maintaining appropriate profit margin percentages.
- Manage the development, implementation, and improvement of procedures pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of the Sales team(s).
- Maintain exceptional business relationships with all internal and external customers by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company objectives, processes, and programs; oversee customer relations including escalations to ensure effective long-term problem resolution; advocate and monitor customer-focused programs to ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development process of respective staff. Drive a culture of accountability through effective performance management. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with Human Resources as appropriate.
- This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the division and indirectly responsible for all employee within the division.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key business leaders and managers to understand and collaborate on solutions to improve business operations.
- Mentor employees of the company to achieve high performance in all aspects of customer service both internally and externally.
- Ensure direct reports adhere to company policy and administer practices fair and equitable manner.
- Keep up to date on information and technology affecting function area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
- Local and national travel required at least two weeks out of every month. This includes industry conferences, client and prospect meetings.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by President.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
- Extensive background in Customer Service, Service Sales, Operations and/or Business Development.
Experience:
- 10+ years providing customer service and/or service sales leadership in a high-volume setting.
Skills:
- Strong management skills with the ability to develop cross-functional teams and partnerships.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization.
- Customer and client dedication.
- Proven decision-making qualities.
- Keen self-direction/motivation skills are required.
- Ability to conceive different possibilities and outcomes to achieve shared goals.
- Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when dealing with employees and customers.
- Ability to multitask within an ambiguous work environment while driving clarity and solutions.
- Demonstrate leadership ability both directly and indirectly.
- Proven record of long-term relationship building skills.
- Strong technical ability.
- Executive problem solving. Able to identify root causes and formulate recommendations for resolution.
- Proficient math skills are required. Must have proved experience in calculating job cost, discounts, and profit margin.
- Team-oriented. Ability to foster a shared sense of purpose, collaboration, and accountability for results.
- Ability to work long hours including after hours and weekends.
