The Hired Guns are seeking a talented Senior UX-UI Designer and Researcher to join a human-centered design agency that’s pushing the envelope of innovative thought and design.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
A unique, human-centered design firm is looking for an endlessly curious Senior UX-UI Designer and Researcher to join its cutting-edge design team focused on empathetic thinking and ultimate value creation. This company’s motto is “improve the world around us, through design, one experience at a time.”
In this role, you will own the creation of long-term client research and will work as an individual contributor alongside visual designers. You will drive the execution of UX strategy and interaction design, digging up insights into user needs and clients’ business needs. You will work closely with clients and present to them often. One thing that distinguishes this agency is their in-house engineering team. Plus, the workload is highly managed — management is insistent that you will only work on two projects at a time to protect the quality of your work … and of your life. It’s a very agile shop, so there is always a lot of predictability and everything is planned out in detail. In short, this is a really cool and caring company that truly lives by its motto of putting people first.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
You’re curious about what it means to be human: you have a deep interest in understanding people’s behaviors, needs, and motivations, and you apply this attitude to every facet of your work. You’re excited about the ever-evolving intersection of design and technology, and you always keep your finger on the pulse of what’s next. You have 5+ years of experience designing web and mobile applications. You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates your strategic role in UX design and/or Interaction Design, with functional web UI and visual designs across desktop and mobile devices. You’re strong with wireframe creation, user flows, and clickable prototypes. Deep knowledge and understanding of designing with accessibility in mind is crucial. Experience working in an agency is strongly preferred, and you should be very comfortable working directly with clients. Note: Great presentation skills are a must, as you will be in front of people quite often. Collaboration comes easily to you, and you can collaborate when prototyping designs using tools like Invision and Figma. You’re super-interested in the research side of this position and you enjoy playing an advisor, or mentor-like role. You’re a well-rounded, caring person — when someone needs help, you are the first to roll up your sleeves.
The Inside Skinny
Why you should quit your job right now and join this organization!
This is truly a people-first company where self-care and work-life balance are taken seriously. Not only will you have the freedom to be your best self here, but you’ll also be joining a world-class team of innovators. If this sounds like a win-win, we want to hear from you ASAP!
