Responsible for partnering with business owners and stakeholders to gather and document analytic requirements supporting the enterprise data warehouse.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Acts as lead business analyst by working across business and technical teams to support enhancement projects/programs, lights-on activity, and issues/defects within the analytic environment.
- Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
- Analyzes more complex business user needs, documents information requirements, facilitates the identification of potential gaps in available data and collaborates with business areas to determine best means for acquiring the data needed.
- Ensures proper data definitions, ownership, use and integrity of data.
- Collaborates with IT resources and data owners to define business objectives and definitions for databases including business rules, sources, purge archive criteria, and reload schedule.
- Supports the validation and testing of data structure design, definitions and mapping, including business rules.
- Facilitates calls with business stakeholders to discuss data requirements.
- Delivers quality results while working on multiple project assignments.
- Instructs, directs and reviews work of less experience data warehouse analysts.
- Maintains information policies and procedures to support current and future data information needs
- Completes metadata assessment and reviews feedback to determine changes needed.
- Collaborates with IT resources on the creation and maintenance of the content of the data warehouse, establishes and maintains strong knowledge of data warehouse data structure design, definitions, capabilities, SQL, and data integrity issues, completes metadata assessment and reviews feedback to determine changes, ensures that data definitions are clear and current, and communicates changes to data definitions to all users.
Qualifications
- Requires BA/BS in related field.
- 6-8 years’ experience in healthcare data analysis, business requirements, data modeling, and working with automated data warehouse systems.
- Any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Experience with programming languages and various statistical programs in addition to general knowledge of major components of managed care operations required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and PC skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and plan large-scale projects required.
- Experience in Teradata SQL, SQL, SAS, Business Objects, and OLAP preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and planning and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and plan complex, large-scale projects required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Financial data knowledge for all data types.
- Methodologies: Rational, Agile and Waterfall
- Business process Analysis & Design, Requirement Gathering, Use Case Modeling, JAD/JRP Sessions, Gap Analysis and Impact Analysis.
