Overview
As a crucial member of the North America Sales leadership team, the Director of Business Development will lead a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs) to drive growth in branded sales in North America and will be responsible for regional strategy, sales quotas and EBITDA growth.
The ideal candidate should be skilled in team management, strategy, and process improvement, and be well-rounded. Experience in oil and gas or field distribution is beneficial but not mandatory. Key skills include team leadership and strategy from an organizational standpoint.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Strong leadership in commercial and business practices, proactive and financially savvy.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 12+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of managerial experience, preferably leading sales teams.
- Willingness to travel regionally, including overnight stays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Sales Managers, driving branded business and EBITDA growth within a multi-state region.
- Craft and adapt regional sales strategies in response to market dynamics.
- Collaborate with key suppliers to secure favorable deals and promote growth.
- Efficiently allocate resources in line with the strategic plan.
- Work closely with Supply and Sales Operations teams to ensure deal profitability.
- Cultivate a robust sales pipeline, nurturing relationships, and guiding the team in lead generation.
- Support the team in deal negotiations, economic modeling, proposal development, and closing, aligning with financial targets.
- Review team deals and economic models to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential customers in distributor and dealer channels.
- Foster a high-performing team through effective coaching, mentoring, and development, ensuring achievement of EBITDA goals.
- Maintain team compliance with Salesforce usage, ensuring accurate EBITDA and capital forecasts.
- Facilitate smooth interactions with support teams like credit and legal to enhance customer experience.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows.
- Lead cross-functional projects as necessary.
