About the Job
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Engineering to lead our talented engineering team at CardioOne. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of healthcare technology, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams. This position will build the engineering team from the ground up and will include all aspects of technology build including Infrastructure/Hosting, Security/Compliance, Product/Tool integrations, Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence, and supporting existing vendor product stack. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and work remotely.
What you'll do:
- Provide strategic leadership for the healthcare engineering team, setting the technical vision and direction for the development of healthcare IT solutions to address evolving customer needs.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the healthcare industry, assessing their potential impact on the organization.
- Set the technical vision and lead technical decisions for your team to ensure the team writes simple, clean, and efficient code to create intuitive, beautiful products.
- Bring clarity when faced with ambiguity; motivate and guide the team through complex problem solving.
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver product features and enhancements that meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners.
- Drive recruitment efforts to attract top-tier engineering talent with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team, promoting best practices, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions while adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and evolve the technology stack used in healthcare IT solutions, making strategic decisions about platforms, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of healthcare systems.
- Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and accuracy of healthcare technology solutions.
- Implement testing methodologies and standards to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with healthcare IT projects. Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure healthcare systems adhere to industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and manage budgets related to healthcare engineering projects. Optimize resource allocation to meet project deadlines and organizational goals.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Healthcare Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration).
- 10-12 years of demonstrated experience in managing and leading high-performance engineering teams.
- Extensive experience in healthcare IT, with a proven track record in full stack technical leadership roles in taking products to market.
- Experience in full stack development (MS SQL, .NET, ReactJS, PowerBI, and Snowflake).
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, interoperability, and data security.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and project management practices.

Additional Information:
Full-time base salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 plus medical, dental, and vision.
