HumCap’s client is searching for a VP of Engineering to join a high growth tech client. The VP will play a critical role in hiring, training, developing, and managing the software product development team in Dallas. We are searching for an individual with proven success building teams and customer-centric products in a SaaS environment. This position reports to the CEO.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage offshore, contract, and partner development resources
- Drive a customer-centric product development culture
- Build a small, local development team in DFW
- Lead local development team in product architecture
- Mentor staff and oversee team career development
- Budget for resource allocation, tooling, and 3rd-party services
- Perform quarterly and annual reviews of direct reports
- Oversee the implementation of development standards
- Proactively develop and maintain team standards, tools, and best practices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Sales and Client Success
- Oversee project plans, schedules, and development methodology
- Lead Scrum Masters and Project Managers in sprint planning meetings
- Ensure QA infrastructure scalability
- Play an active role in fueling customer growth via quality products and services
- Create detailed product development updates and presentations for executive leadership and board
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years leading customer-centric development teams
- 10 years of experience in software engineering, minimum 5 years within SaaS
- Successful track record building high performing development teams
- Experience leading teams to develop database structures and API workflows
