The Public Cloud Platform team at Cloudera is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to help drive development of Cloudera’s next-generation Hybrid Data Platform. The Public Cloud Platform team at Cloudera is responsible for the design and development of CDP’s multi-tenanted Hybrid Control Plane.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer you will:- Work closely with Product Managers to drive a project’s requirements and convert said requirements into technical designs.
- Design, write and review high quality code to deliver elegant, scalable, enterprise-quality, cloud-based application services.
- Execute the development of software with a strong focus on security, performance, and robustness.
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with UI engineers, quality engineers, UX designers, Product Managers, SRE, Infosec, and external partners.
- Hire, mentor and lead junior engineers by example.
- Work to enhance developer productivity and team agility.
We Are Excited About You If You Have:- 10+ years of experience building scalable applications with Java and Golang.
- Solid hands-on experience with microservices development (gRPC, REST, etc.), Object Oriented Programming (OOP), SQL and NoSQL databases, Messaging infrastructure, etc.
- At least 3-4 years of development and production experience with one or more public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE), Terraform, etc.
- Conceptual understanding of the networking aspects on public cloud platforms (such as VPCs, Subnets, Gateways, Load Balancers, Private Links, Security Groups, etc.).
- Experience in debugging connection problems. Knowledge of how TLS and PKI work.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship along with a high bias for action.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
You might also have:- Experience with implementing Service Mesh such as Istio.
- Experience with certification/compliance standards such as Fedramp, CIS, etc.

- The expected base salary for this role in California is $192,000 - $240,000.
- The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience, and location.
