Scion Nonprofit Staffing is searching for a Director of Operations to join an impactful nonprofit organization dedicated to providing career advancement resources to BIPOC college students! This position is fully remote and the organization is based in the Boston area!
OVERVIEW
The Director of Operations will manage all back-office operations as the organization begins to scale including people operations, systems planning, internal reporting and oversight, as well as administration. This position will report directly to the Founder.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
People Operations
- Manage and mature people operations functions including designing the employee onboarding experience and training of new staff, benefits, compensation/payroll, legal compliance, contract management, staff reviews, and employee relations.
- Manage employee handbook and develop and execute staff training programs.
- Engage with staff to support our unique culture, which includes a virtual office environment and our transition from start-up to sustainable and resilient organization.
- Develop and recommend updates to policies and strategy as needed in partnership with the Founder and senior team.
- Manage and communicate with fellows and advisors to ensure a satisfactory summer experience.
- Help project plan for fundraising events (work closely with the fundraising department on an as-needed basis).
Finance and Administration
- Oversee and mature financial reporting and controls for the purpose of growth and sustainability of the organization. Develop, mature, and maintain internal accounting manuals and related policies.
- Manage and mature our internal information-sharing processes, policies, and tools.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budgeting and reforecasting process, in a collaborative effort involving the Senior Team and the Board.
- Serve as staff liaison with the Board. Prepare monthly financial reports for review by the Founder and Board and perform ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Research, implement, and ensure interoperability of back-office technologies.
- Manage and oversee the general administrative duties of the organization including compliance. This includes business registration, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, annual business insurance renewal process, etc.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- A passion for uplifting students from underrepresented communities and social justice.
- Start-up experience! The ability to build out a team and systems from scratch.
- Extensive Finance & Operations experience, preferably from a nonprofit organization.
- Extensive Human Resources experience.
- A strong leadership skillset paired with the ability to give direction, collaborate, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
- Experience implementing new technology preferred.
COMPENSATION
This position offers a salary of $80-$90K. DOE and flexible remote hours! This position works on an amazing team and makes an incredible impact on undergraduate students preparing to build a successful career journey!
