Join the group of attorneys and paralegals who provide legal counsel to the product teams at Adobe that develop and market Adobe Firefly – Adobe's family of creative generative AI models powering Text to Image, Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and more. We are seeking a hardworking, positive, and business-savvy lawyer to support the Firefly product and business teams. You will work closely with product management, product marketing, engineering, business strategy, and go-to-market teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, to provide counseling on a range of legal topics. You will be based in San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, or Seattle, WA, will report to the Managing Counsel that leads the Firefly Legal team, and will help advance our clients' business objectives while managing legal and brand/reputational risk.
What you'll Do
- Develop legal solutions and policies for the development of innovative generative AI technologies, features, and business models.
- Support and build positive relationships with our product development teams.
- Draft and negotiate all types of technology licensing agreements - both in-bound and out-bound licenses and partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with our clients on the review of products, business strategies, marketing collateral, and press releases, and initiatives to assess legal compliance and provide practical advice.
- Coordinate with subject matter leads in Adobe’s Legal Department, including privacy, antitrust, and intellectual property attorneys.
- Develop and deliver materials and trainings to various internal groups, including engineering, program management, and sales legal.
What you need to succeed
- J.D. from an accredited law school and necessary bar membership.
- 6+ years of relevant legal experience, with software and online services industry experience (experience with AI models is strongly preferred).
- Technical background or a geek-level curiosity about software/technology licensing agreements and development strongly preferred.
- Proficiency at negotiating and drafting various agreements including in-bound and out-bound technology licenses, development agreements, online services agreements, and terms of use for online services.
- Experience in privacy and data security issues and compliance.
- A flexible, business-friendly collaborator who can think creatively and enjoys working with technical issues.
- A sense of humor and enjoy working on a team and with people at all levels in the organization.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A dedication to providing clients with high quality and timely legal advice, and flexibility to take on different types of products and services and related work.
- Flexibility to work with colleagues, clients, and others in time zones other than where the position is based.
- Ability to exercise common sense to provide both practical and theoretical advice; must be a creative problem solver and have good business instincts.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $136,500 -- $261,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
