Responsibilities
- Assist and provide support to restricted party screening team with the development of policies and procedures in response to regulatory developments.
- Review and negotiate contractual provisions with clients, third parties and vendors relating to trade compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships across the business to effectively spot and address trade compliance risks.
- Provide training on trade compliance topics to cross-functional teams, including sales teams, product and engineering teams, and legal colleagues.
- Handle regulatory inquiries and filings with U.S. and other agencies, as needed.
What you need to succeed
- Law degree/JD with mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred;
- 6+ years of experience in law practice with proven experience and/or understanding of U.S. (OFAC) economic sanctions and export control laws and regulations;
- Experience with and/or understanding of non-U.S. trade laws;
- Highly effective communicator who can translate complex laws and regulations for business personnel;
- Business-savvy problem-solver with excellent judgment who can navigate challenges;
- Team player who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
- A self-starter who can operate independently in a dynamic global environment;
- An approachable, easy-going and flexible manner with a great sense of humor;
- Strong dedication to client service;
- Willingness to work flexible hours (this role requires frequent collaboration with non-US-based team members).
