Position Summary:
We're looking for a Head of Commercial Finance (Director level) to lead the commercial finance team, provide financial insight and thought partnership across our different product lines and channels in efforts to grow Welch's. The Head of Commercial Finance is a key position within the finance team and is one of the pipeline roles for CFO succession. A successful candidate is an experienced finance professional who can partner cross-functionally to provide insights and influence outcomes.
Where You'll Work:
This role will be based out of our Concord, MA headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives and collaboration is key. Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Fridays being remote, flex days.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement the commercial finance strategy, in alignment with the overall business goals.
- Partner with the Chief Marketing and Chief Revenue Officers to provide proactive financial guidance to maximize profitability.
- Lead the team in preparing accurate and timely financial forecasts, budgets, and analyses.
- Direct the development, measurement and communication of monthly KPI metrics to help track performance, outline gap areas, and propose solutions for bridging the gap.
- Effectively communicate complex financial information and provide financial visibility across the business to drive improvement.
- Play a key role in strategic planning (Annual & 3 year plans), critical business initiatives, and innovation stage gate process presenting insightful evaluations and business commentary to a variety of audiences.
- Provide business with financial insight and thought partnership inclusive of:
- Trade and brand promotional spending.
- Pricing strategies.
- New product, channel, and market development.
- Customer and product line profitability.
- Foster a collaborative learning environment for your team and, with the other finance function leaders, progress the goals of the overall finance function.
Who You Are:
- Exceptional leader of people with demonstrated experience building, developing and motivating a team of finance team members at varying levels.
- Diverse finance background, preferably in the Consumer Goods space.
- The ability to be hands-on and detail-oriented yet also provide a strategic perspective to bear on the issues of company operations and finance.
- Ability to simplify the complex.
- Proven problem solver - able to proactively detect risks/issues while identifying and implementing resolutions through cross-functional influence.
- Experience guiding a team through strategic goal setting, coaching them to deliver on key milestones, and adjust plans as necessary while keeping an eye on the ultimate business goals.
What You'll Need:
- 10+ years of financial business partner experience required, preferably within CPG or Food/Beverage industry.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of managerial and people leadership experience.
- B.S. degree in Finance or related field required (MBA Preferred). A combination of education, training, and experience that results in demonstrated skills to perform the work may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
