Athena Care is looking for a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic and talented team in TN. We have offices in Nashville, Hendersonville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Clarksville with soon to open offices in Memphis and Knoxville.

Athena Care provides comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults across middle Tennessee. Services include diagnostic assessment, medical management, psychotherapy, and interventional psychiatry, such as TMS and Spravato. Founded in 2001, Athena Care is “in-network” with most major insurance plans.
Job Summary:
The Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of behavioral and mental health disorders for children and adolescents in a collaborative team environment.
Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and evaluate conditions, disorders, or disabilities using a variety of methods and following current best practices, standards, and procedures.
- Diagnose mental and affective conditions.
- Develop treatment plans and determine necessary medication or other resources/treatment needed according to patient's needs.
- Educate guardians on supporting patients and collaborate/consult with other members of the patient's care team.
- Document services provided in the electronic medical record (EMR) consistent with standards of practice, internal policies of Athena Care, and HIPAA or other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate licensure, supervision, and continuing education requirements in a manner consistent with standards of practice.
- Maintain knowledge of current standards of care and research in the field; apply knowledge to improve practice and provision of care.
- Adhere to appropriate practice guidelines in provision of care.
- Must be eligible to participate in commercial insurance networks and Medicare.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: Medical degree and successful completion of residency and fellowship required.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current, valid medical license issued by the state of TN required; Current, valid DEA registration required; Board certified or board eligible by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with subspecialty in child and adolescent psychiatry required.

Physical Requirements:
This is an office-type role with primarily sedentary job duties and limited reaching, pulling, pushing, or carrying.
