About The RoleApixio is searching for a Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. This position will report to the General Counsel. Our successful candidate will be a licensed attorney in California with substantial experience negotiating contracts for SaaS technology companies. You will support both outbound and inbound deals, along with general business legal matters (including data privacy, employment, healthcare and IP matters) and have a knack for developing contract templates and processes, policies and procedures that can scale. This position includes engagement with our Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, HR and Marketing teams.
What You Will Have Ownership Over- Interpret and assess contracts and quickly identify the issues that need either a business or legal decision.
- Advise internal departments on contract interpretation and associated legal and business risk.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships among the various internal business groups requiring legal support.
- Primary support of all commercial agreements including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts including non-disclosure agreements, master service agreements, statements of work, vendor agreements, business associate agreements and consultant agreements.
- Manage and mitigate legal risk by creating and implementing appropriate policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Maintain Apixio’s internal and public facing privacy statements. These include our general privacy statement, candidate privacy statement and employee privacy statements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities You Bring To The Table- License to practice and in good standing with the California State Bar (or eligibility to become a Registered In-House Counsel in California).
- Minimum 5 years prior experience representing SaaS technology companies in a transactional role at a law firm or in-house legal department and preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts across various business functions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively and efficiently with all levels of management and personnel.
- Project Management skills, specifically strong organizational and planning skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to manage changing priorities and workflow, and the ability to effectively advance multiple simultaneous projects.
The salary range below is for Base Salary. Total compensation also includes benefits and variable compensation. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
Base Compensation$150,000—$200,000 USD
