Seeking a full-time (4.0 or 4.5 days/week) BE/BC Neurologist to join a highly productive, skilled, and popular neurologist and selected outreach clinic sites to help meet clinical demands for services and build a neurology service for the system.
Responsibilities:
- Provides office-based general neurology services to new and established patients (adolescents age 16 and older as well as adults), including medication management, education and counseling of patients and families, ordering diagnostic tests, referral to related other specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, pain management, pulmonology, sleep medicine) locally, referral to subspecialty neurologists at tertiary care centers, and communication with PCPs.
- Most commonly diagnosed conditions include: Migraine, Memory Loss, Essential Tremor, Parkinson's Disease, Cognitive Impairment, Dizziness, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Polyneuropathy, Headache.
- Partners with other members of the neurology team (e.g., neurologist colleague, radiologist, EEG technologists, MAs, RNs, physical therapists).
- Infrequently provides consultation for inpatients (0-3 times/week).
- More often provides curbside (unofficial) consultations to hospitalists and arranges to see patients in a timely manner (<1-2 weeks) in the office setting following discharge and/or specialized testing.
- Ability to interpret EEG studies and perform Botox injections desirable but not required.
