Job Purpose Summary: The Medical Director will provide direct care to both Harmony Bay Wellness and Victory Bay Recovery clients and patients as well as oversee our APNs, PAs, and medical team. The Medical Director will be key in the oversight and delivery of services designed to provide the highest level of care to those suffering from mental illness and addiction. This position serves both locations on one campus in Laurel Springs, NJ.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing initial psychiatric evaluations
- Prescribing medications during follow up medication management appointments
- Injection of medications when appropriate
- Provide leadership and oversight to medical team
- Case conferencing with Director of Nursing, Clinical Director, and APN staff
- Hiring, training and evaluation of medical staff
- On-Call/After-Hours Phone coverage and availability, as needed

Required education: MD or DO
Required experience: 5 years’ experience as an MD or DO, 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role

- Teach skills for reducing relapses, dealing with stress, and coping with symptoms.
- Provide information about where to obtain needed resources.
- Help people develop or enhance their natural supports for managing their illness and pursuing their goals.

Physical requirements:
- Must be able to lift 20-50 lbs.

Required licenses or certifications: The Medical Director must be a NJ Licensed Physician with the following credentials:
- Valid NJ Licenses: DEA, CDS, Data Waiver
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and additional ASAM/ABAM/ABPM Certification preferred
- Current CPR Certification
- Narcan Certified
Supervision of APNs: 20 minutes per week. Weekly chart review. State collaboration agreement.
