Description
SFI is responsible for software quality assurance and testing support for a federal agency. SFI is currently looking for a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester. The focus of this position is on Performance/Load & Automation Testing, Quality Assurance (QA) and Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of supported applications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Experience testing in one or more specific areas and drive continuous improvement and innovation in test coverage and test effectiveness.
- Design and implement test strategies to improve efficiency in manual testing.
- Conduct unit and regression testing, load and performance testing, multiple layers of security testing including static and dynamic code scanning, 508 testing, and failover testing on the developed software products.
- Conduct functional testing to ensure the quality of our software products.
- Collaborate closely with developers to identify and report bugs.
- Create and execute test plans and test cases, adhering to Agile frameworks.
- Perform regression testing and provide feedback on software quality.
- Identify areas for test process improvement and work on test automation strategies.
- Write and implement test cases as part of individual development sprints.
- Improve existing test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews as an integral part of an Agile development team.
Requirements- Minimum 3 to 5 years of software testing experience.
- Proven experience in automated functional testing.
- Extensive experience with SonarQube.
- Strong knowledge of test automation.
- Proficiency in Java for test automation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sprint-based development environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Desired Skills & Qualifications- Extensive knowledge and experience of software testing concepts and best practices.
- Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
- Experience with Agile software development process (working with a scrum team).
- Familiarity with the Agile Software Development Life Cycle (ASDLC) process and technical documentation.
- Ability to provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers.
- Federal agency experience.

Other Information- The salary for this position is $50,000 - $80,000 annually
- This is a full-time W2 position.
