About the role:
SmartBear is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales to drive revenue as part of our API Core North American Sales Team. As a Senior Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading a team of 3 direct line leaders within the Somerville sales organization. A successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading a team of sales managers or enterprise sales executives, achieving and exceeding targets, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a high-velocity environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to grow API Team revenue globally.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends to drive sales strategies and positioning.
- Build and lead a team of sales managers, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team targets. Capable of recruiting top performers and driving a high-performance team of sellers and managers.
- Manage the sales cycle, ensuring a high level of quality throughout and ultimately delivering or exceeding plan quarter over quarter.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cross-selling functions and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts and reports to executive leadership, internally and externally.
We are looking for you if you have:
- 3+ years of strategic sales leadership experience.
- Software sales experience required; experience selling into the software development space preferred.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing revenue in N.A. or globally through direct and indirect channels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills.
- Oversee weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning activities including forecasting, pipeline management, and effectiveness.
- Help drive strategic initiatives and program improvement related to infrastructure, workflows, processes, and CSM development.
- Develop staffing plans and hiring of new team members as needed, including forecasting and determining future needs.
- Within commuting distance to our headquarters in Somerville, MA.
