Position Overview:
The Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Bedford Advertising by managing the entire new business cycle. This includes prospecting, qualification, needs analysis, stakeholder mapping, pitching, and negotiation. You will also leverage your strong network of contacts within the automotive industry to generate new opportunities.
As a key member of our leadership team, you will develop and implement strategies to attract new clients while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, emailing, and inbound lead follow-up.
- Client Qualification: Assess potential clients to ensure alignment with Bedford Advertising’s services and values.
- Needs Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis to understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet those needs.
- Stakeholder Mapping: Identify key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Pitching and Presentation: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients, often through Webex or similar platforms.
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for both Bedford Advertising and our clients. Successfully close new business opportunities.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new client stakeholders, establishing trust and becoming a true partner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including account management, creative, and media departments, to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the advertising and/or automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of the automotive advertising space and a robust network of senior contacts within the industry.
- Successful track record of delivering new business targets, particularly in environments focused on automotive dealerships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful business development strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
Performance Expectations:
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Successfully onboard and retain new clients.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Deliver high-quality presentations and proposals that reflect Bedford Advertising’s capabilities and value proposition.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure client needs are met.
Benefits and Compensation:
- We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The starting salary for this position is $75,000 per year. The final salary will be determined based on factors such as skills, knowledge, and demonstrated expertise.
