PATH is establishing a program to advance the health needs of communities and improve health equity within the United States. The US Health Equity program will leverage existing expertise to support strengthening domestic public health systems and healthcare delivery to help people access the healthcare they need and lead healthy lives.
Job Summary:
PATH is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to lead our new US Health Equity program. This pivotal role will drive our strategic vision and initiatives to reduce health disparities and ensure equitable access to healthcare for all communities across the United States.
As the inaugural lead of PATH's US Health Equity program, you will oversee the establishment and growth of a portfolio of US-focused projects in collaboration with local governments, academic institutions, private sector partners, and more. PATH has identified several key areas where our global expertise can benefit communities in the US, including:
- Capacity building for primary healthcare by leveraging digital health tools.
- Providing technical assistance and supply chain support for vaccine manufacturing and distribution.
- Utilizing data-informed decision-making supported by market dynamics.
- Increasing access to healthcare for rural and hard-to-reach populations.
The successful candidate will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs aimed at reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes for underserved US populations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and lead PATH's US health equity strategy, ensuring alignment with PATH's overall mission and goals.
- Identify and prioritize key health equity issues and opportunities, addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
- Serve as a thought leader and advocate for health equity, representing PATH in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings.
Program Development and Management:
- Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive US-based health equity projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with PATH program teams to integrate relevant technical expertise into existing and new projects.
- Oversee the management of projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery of outcomes and adherence to budgets.
Partnerships and Advocacy:
- Build and maintain strong, strategic partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, government agencies, academic institutions, and private sector partners, establishing collaborations that utilize PATH's expertise and address the unmet health needs of US-based communities.
- Lead full business development process; Create pipeline; Cultivate relationships with institutional, government and philanthropic donors; Develop business cases, proposals, prospectuses, and other materials to support partnership formation and deal making.
- Advocate for policies and practices that promote health equity at local, state, and national levels, leveraging PATH's expertise and resources.
- Represent PATH in relevant forums, conferences, and meetings, effectively communicating our vision and goals.
Research and Innovation:
- Lead and support research initiatives to identify health disparities and develop effective interventions.
- Foster innovation in health equity solutions, leveraging technology, data analytics, and evidence-based practices.
- Disseminate findings and best practices through publications, presentations, and other channels, ensuring broad impact and knowledge sharing.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Work effectively with a team of health equity professionals, promoting a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Promote a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, excellence, and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in public health, health policy, social sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience leading health programs in the United States.
- Strong understanding of social determinants of health and health disparities in the US, with experience addressing these issues in diverse communities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and mobilize teams and partners.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships, with experience in business development.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment, demonstrating cultural competence and sensitivity.

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $213,000 - $285,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
