Overview:
Rapiscan Systems, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products range from hand-held metal detectors to Real Time Tomography used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.
Rapiscan Systems is looking for a Principal Business Analyst to join their team! This individual will assist the Global Service organization achieve financial performance targets through analysis and review of financial results at a very detailed level. They will also be assisting with the development of strategies to grow the business and identify future risks as it relates to financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Advises Global Service on all business-related issues affecting Service and performs analysis and reports that align with financial and strategic goals.
- Leads preparation, analysis and reviews of actuals with a focus on future risk and variance analysis at a detailed level by region with appropriate management levels. Summarize results and communicate business impacts to Service leadership.
- Supports monthly forecast process through support of the preparation of accurate Global top line sales and gross margin forecasts for the Global Service Team.
- Monitors and reviews monthly results and summarizes key trends for management through data analysis.
- This job will require working with Regional Leaders, Service Operations Leaders, and Service Finance. The candidate must be willing to communicate, ask questions and work with these other Service leaders to accomplish team objectives.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Develops meaningful analytics to convey key drivers on growth and productivity.
- Identifies service opportunities for improvement through data analysis.
- Responsible for influencing execution of day-to-day activities related to Service, Proposals, including development of strategies necessary to achieve performance goals.
- Participates in proposals to achieve desired profit margins and business strategic elements through data analysis and lessons learned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance required.
- 12+ years related experience highly desired.
- Possess strong interpersonal awareness in order to work with strong personalities and multiple levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize concurrent requirements and accommodate numerous stakeholders.
- Must be flexible and willing to deal with a wide range of work assignments.
- Ability to work through problems with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and proficiency in key financial systems and ERP tools (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of Risk and Opportunities Management best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of financial costing/pricing, reporting, and invoicing requirements for multiple types of US Government contract vehicles (Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed-Fee, Firm-Fixed Price, hybrid).
- Moderate level of progressive Finance roles with strong analytical and partnering track record.
- Comfortable presenting to executive management and can clearly communicate ideas and articulate findings while maintaining a hands-on approach.
- Must organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects and function effectively as a team member.
- Experience cross-training or supervising personnel a plus.
Other Work Requirements:
- Successful completion of OSI training required (including training done at Company location).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
