Job Summary
In conjunction with the other regional leaders, determine the long-term strategic objectives of the operational areas supporting the regional business. Ensure business growth through directing and managing business operations activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organisational strategy. To plan, direct and manage the performance of the company’s operations, as dictated by the overall Corporate strategy so as to maintain and develop business growth in accordance with the agreed business strategy.
Essential Responsibilities
- Strategy formulation & implementation
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the Florida Region vision and strategy
- Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organisation maximises its short, medium and long-term profitability and returns
- Liaise with other regional leaders on the implementation of the regional strategic and operational plans
- Develop, review, and report on the operations division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the heads of Region
Leads the integration project of regional systems, policies and procedures with those of Corporate in a three-year strategic plan timeframe.
Develops the three lines of defense model within the Region, strengthening the first line of defense in business and operational areas and enhancing the scope and frequency of reviews at the regional second line of defense.
Effectively drives the regional operational and internal control framework.
Strategically defines regional operational plan to achieve Corporate critical milestones.
Leads tactical implementation of processes to achieve established goals and objectives.
Designs, establishes and monitors metrics (KPI’s) and scorecards to monitor performance.
Reviews and analyzes data and metrics on productivity, efficiency, effectiveness and excellence.
Delivers sustainable results through root cause analysis, identification of gaps or business and operational needs, assessment, implementation of solutions and restructuring of processes.
Designs the appropriate policies, procedures and internal control framework considering strategies, productivity, best practices, risk management, regulatory compliance, SOX and financial controls framework.
Oversees, monitors and ensures established framework is implemented and operates effectively.
Leads a cross-functional team, prioritizing and coordinating their objectives and work plans as follows:
- Human Resources – Leads the integration of human resources processes and systems to those at Corporate. Ensures effective processes are in place supporting the regional talent selection process, alignment of talents and skills to organizational needs, maintenance of high performance and high engagement levels, effective communication across the operation, organizational culture and change management awareness and/or transitioning initiatives, assurance that timely and assertive performance management processes and talent development plans are in place and operating effectively.
- Loan Operations - Ensures loan servicing is managed according to operational and regulatory standards.
- Deposits Operations – Ensure deposits operations is managed according to operational and regulatory standards.
- Project Management – Leads the project management team in charge of innovation tied to new systems and processes implementation within the region.
- Regional Quality – Leads the regional second line of defense monitoring the quality of all regional operations.
Ensure that the operations functions of the company are run effectively and efficiently so that each operational division performs in terms with their strategic plan, developmental plan and operational plan objectives.
Maintain the administration, monitoring, reporting, communication, budget and liaison on all regional operations and control matters.
Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls throughout the company, covering non-financial as well as financial controls.
Ensure that operating objectives and standards of performance are owned by management as well as employees.
Ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are established and complied with.
Present an annual Budget for areas under management.
Governance guidelines management, monitoring, reporting and communication in regard to financial and physical resources, administration and budgeting.
Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration. CPA Certification required. Advanced degree preferred. Ten years of experience in an operations, accounting and/or project management related field is required. 5 years of which must be operations management experience. Of the 10 years experience, at least 3 years must have been spent in a senior management role.
