Job Description
Directs and generates business opportunities for a division. Responsible for multiple programs with high earnings and revenue accountability and complex products and sub-systems. Works with business teams, other divisions and current and potential customers to promote company technologies, products and services to meet customer needs and to determine how the division's capabilities can be leveraged into additional markets. Revenue guidelines may be applied in determining the appropriate grade level.

Reporting to the Division Marketing & Strategy Leader, this role will be a catalyst for strategic growth. They will be responsible for SSO Division strategy development and deployment, market intelligence, Industry Partnerships, as well as Product Improvement & Retrofit (PI&R) Program Management.
Manages inputs for Quarterly and Annual growth plan and Annual Market Segment presentations, as well as supports division strategic planning and deployment process. Integral with the development of our aftermarket 5- and 10-year plans. Collaborates with cross-functional and divisional contacts as needed.
Recommends the aftermarket route to market strategy to maximize market share and consider development and ownership of Channel partners, such as Distributors, approved MROs, JVs, and integrators.
Responsible for executing partnership strategy inclusive of business case development and approval and subsequent negotiation and management of third-party partnerships.
Develops make versus buy business cases and partnership agreements. Assesses performance of partnerships post contract award.
Develops and leads execution of a credible (PI&R) product line for our Commercial business. Identify sales opportunities, build business plans and proposals, and convert these through the Winovation process to revenue generating new products and creates the 'Tool Kit', for global sales teams to promote and secure business.
Determines the need for cross-division teaming and external strategic partner/ alliances to gain business.
Conducts competitive research, evaluates sales performance, and formulates goals and milestones for specific products and systems. Applies thorough understanding of the division's technical capabilities, operational capacity, and market information to influence future plans, strategies, and identify business development opportunities.
Serves as the liaison with Regional/Group Marketing to resolve issues and build growth plans. Stays in close contact with division technology, business units and operations teams to enable rapid turnaround solutions.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers to gain knowledge of future market and customer needs and further develop business opportunities.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade and technical publications, establishing professional networks, participating in professional associations, and attending industry trade shows.
Shares specialized knowledge with others. Represents Company on specific projects. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g., continuous improvement).
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BA) in Marketing, Engineering, or related field, and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of increasingly responsible experience, including five or more years of high-level program management and established customer contacts, with major revenue or scope of responsibility. Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on collaboration both internally and external to establish long-term partnerships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of principles, industry practices, company products, technology, regulations, service capabilities, and policies related to marketing and business development for airline, military, or OEM, and aftermarket customers. Knowledge of program management and business processes and procedures, including technical and business proposal development. Knowledge of domestic and international customer budgeting and acquisition processes and procedures. Knowledge of government and industrial procurement regulations and practices. Knowledge of competitors' products and marketing efforts and national, industrial business, and political interests. Knowledge of other companies' products and capabilities for potential teaming and alliances. Knowledge of related US and international rules and regulations. Ability to work on most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and/or incomplete data; understand problems from a broad, long-term perspective. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex policies and recommend changes to procedures. Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to use standard business applications software. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to top management, customers, and/or boards of directors. Ability to translate customer desires and projected requirements into business development strategies and develop solutions to customer problems. Ability to demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $130,240 - $227,982.
