Job Summary
This position leads the overall Property & Casualty (P&C) program for Agency Services, an affiliate of Guidestone Financial Resources, and is responsible for driving the overall direction and performance of the P&C business line to meet the long and short-term goals of the program. Additionally, this role leads the broader broker distribution development for GuideStone Agency Services, serving as the strategic head for that effort.
What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership and Direction
- Responsible for delivering and driving results for Kingdom Impact, People, and Margins for those we serve in the P&C and agency marketplace.
- Responsible for P&C growth, revenue generation, and customer retention.
- Sets the strategic direction toward becoming a full-service broker providing broad solutions to meet diverse client needs.
- Collaborates on new distribution models with senior leaders for P&C solutions and market development.
Sales and Relationship Management
- Serves as lead sales & relationship liaison with outside insurance partners including carriers, brokers, and risk management partners.
- Responsible for the design and development of a broker distribution network to serve ministry partners with a broad range of GuideStone solutions.
- Directs sales and relationship management leaders to implement the sales strategy and monitor results to guide leaders and their teams in developing and achieving stated production goals.
- Works with GuideStone Human Resources to recruit, hire, and train P&C sales, relationship management, and service team members.
- Develops and implements training programs and team member development plans to ensure consistent customer experiences and expectations.
- Develops, teaches, and promotes sales business plans as well as implementing client service standards.
Customer Experience and Service Excellence
- Leads agency experience team to provide kingdom-class service for ministry partners served.
- Ultimately responsible for delivering coverage and service solutions that promote customer satisfaction and meet customer needs.
- Responsible for maintaining best practices from a service perspective.
- Prepares and responds to reporting requirements by supplying statistics and/or department performance indicators.
Strategic Relationships and Network Development
- Fosters strategic relationships and network development.
- Directly involved with large and complex as well as key accounts.
- Promotes GuideStone, and assigns team members when necessary, at conventions, conferences, and seminars where our presence would result in new opportunities.
Operational Management
- Responsible for managing the Sales, Relationships Management, and Experience budget, planning, and execution to optimize ROI.
- Participates in the development of a sales & marketing execution plan, in partnership with strategy, marketing, and product management stakeholders, to build awareness, promote and position Property and Casualty solutions, generate and convert leads to acquire new customers and retain existing customers.
- Directs the team in managing travel to meet the stated goals and objectives of the organization.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Responsible for full scope of supervision including reviewing performance of assigned staff.
- This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the Property & Casualty senior leaders for Sales, Relationship Management, and Customer Experience.

- Travel is required up to 20% annually.
- Proficient skills in MS Office and appropriate GuideStone system applications.
- Proven leadership and management ability.

- Experience mentoring others in a marketing environment.
- Ability to develop sales strategies and tactics to support annual sales goals as set forth by management.
- Extensive knowledge of the P&C industry, including funding options, state regulations, federal programs, not-for-profit regulations, tax rules for church-based businesses, and the competitive environment relative to GuideStone products.
- Extensive knowledge of GuideStone P&C and insurance options including all products offered, how they operate, the strengths and weaknesses of each, and how they relate to competitors’ products and services.
- Excellent public speaking/presentation skills.
- Excellent sales skills that can be documented through review of outside sales and retention success.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers.
- Ability to align processes, people and technology to build consistent production in a sales environment.
- Ability to establish priorities for multiple tasks.
- A working knowledge of SBC polity, philosophy and history.
- Total dedication to customer excellence in service.
- Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
