FACILITY OVERVIEW:
Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is a 30-bed acute care surgical hospital, serving the residents of Fort Worth and the surrounding communities since 2014. The hospital provides a wide spectrum of medical services including an Emergency Department, a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed intensive care unit, a diagnostic imaging unit, 15 operating rooms, including the da Vinci, ExcelsiusGPS, and Mako and ROSA Robotic Surgical Systems. With a medical staff of over 130 physicians, Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth provides a number of specialty surgical services including, but are not limited to, ENT, Bariatric, General, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Oral, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Pain Management, Plastics, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology. Oversight includes an offsite HOPD with 1 OR. In addition, the hospital is majority owner in an offsite ambulatory surgical center.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The CFO directs the finance and accounting functions and is integral and vital to the success of the organization. The ideal CFO candidate must possess strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills. The CFO must have an in-depth understanding of regulatory and accounting standards and principles and uphold the integrity of financial and compliance reporting. The CFO must demonstrate skills and leadership in management, financial operations, hospital operations, fiscal affairs, strategic financial planning, internal controls, and compliance.
The CFO must have the ability to analyze and interpret statistics and other data to meet the high standards of the hospital. This position will oversee various hospital departments in support of the hospital’s mission, vision, and values. The CFO will identify cost-effective systems needed to support the organization taking into account business trends and resource availability. The CFO will work collaboratively with other managers in meeting facility goals.
The CFO is a member of the Senior Management Team and will be responsible for:
Financial Management Activities:
- Financial Planning
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Revenue Cycle
- Expense Management
- Financial Reporting
- Regulatory Reporting
- Capital Planning and Management
Operational Responsibilities/Departments:
- Business Office/Revenue Cycle
- Facilities, IT, Materials Management, and Case Management
Communication Activities:
Direct interaction with the Hospital Leadership Team, Governing Board, Executive Committee, staff, USPI & Tenet Senior Leaders.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
In order to be considered for this position, a candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business, Required
- Masters’ Degree in Business, Accounting or Healthcare Administration and CPA, Preferred
- Recent hospital financial management experience, Required
- Minimum of 5 years’ hospital financial management and revenue cycle experience, Required
- Recent management of multiple departments including all business office functions, Required
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, analytical and computer skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
