Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving impactful fundraising and outreach initiatives? Vogel, a leading nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of homeless children in Dallas, is seeking a dynamic Chief Development Officer - External Affairs (CDO-EA) to join our executive team.
As the CDO-EA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our fundraising, marketing, and outreach efforts. You’ll lead a talented team of directors and collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer - Major Gifts (CDO-MG) to achieve Vogel ’s ambitious revenue goals. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site role with compensation ranging from $100,000 - $137,500
What we do
Vogel is a well-established nonprofit organization located in Dallas with a history spanning over 36 years. Our core mission is centered around providing exceptional care and early childhood education for young children from homeless and domestic abuse shelters, all within our NAEYC accredited child care facility. Our innovative approach works to support both children and their parents through a two-generation strategy, offering resources that set families on a path toward a brighter future.
What you’ll do
- Lead and Innovate: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with Vogel Alcove’s mission and values.
- Collaborate for Success: Work closely with the CDO-MG to cultivate and steward donors and prospects, including individuals and corporations.
- Inspire and Mentor: Supervise and mentor the Directors of Development, Marketing, and Events & Outreach, guiding them to achieve excellence in their respective areas.
- Manage Partnerships: Oversee contracts with outsourced vendors for website design/maintenance, graphic design, and public relations to ensure our brand is consistently represented.
- Amplify Our Story: Ensure that Vogel Alcove’s brand, message, and story are compelling across all channels and platforms.
- Measure Impact: Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of fundraising, marketing, and outreach activities.
- Be Our Ambassador: Represent Vogel Alcove at external events and meetings, serving as a spokesperson and advocate for our mission.
- Strategize for Growth: Participate in the Executive Team, contributing to the strategic planning and decision-making that drives the organization forward.
What will make you successful in this role (skills) - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in fundraising, marketing, and/or communications in the non-profit sector.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts and grants from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse and high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative and strategic thinker, with the ability to develop and implement innovative and effective fundraising, marketing, and outreach strategies.
- Passionate and committed to the mission and vision of the organization and the cause of serving homeless children in Dallas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM software, and online marketing tools.
