About the Role

Responsive is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented leader to join our team as the Director of Operational Efficiency. In this position, you will be responsible for leading initiatives aimed at improving the operational processes, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing overall organizational efficiency. This role involves strategic planning, implementing process improvements, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations and cost-effective workflows. The Director of Operational Efficiency will also be tasked with analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and developing action plans to achieve higher productivity and operational excellence.
Reporting to the VP Operations, you will have an opportunity to have an immediate and meaningful impact on the company. To be successful in this role, you should be an innovative problem solver and have an entrepreneurial attitude.
Essential Functions
Operational Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency across the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational improvements with business goals and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
Process Improvement:
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate current processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to optimize operational performance.
- Oversee the redesign of business processes to improve service delivery and reduce operational costs.
Performance Metrics & Data Analysis:
- Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational efficiency.
- Envision and build a data analytics function and build a culture of decision making centered around data-driven insights to identify trends, anticipate challenges, and recommend solutions.
- Establish mechanisms(MBR/QBR, annual operational planning cycles) to regularly report on the organization’s operational performance to leadership as well as drive accountability and course correction.
Resource Management:
- Ensure optimal allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and technology.
- Work closely with department heads to ensure that resources are used effectively and are in line with organizational objectives.
- Implement resource management best practices to minimize waste and maximize utilization.
Technology Integration:
- Oversee the adoption of new technologies and systems that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work with IT and other departments to ensure seamless integration of tools and platforms that enhance productivity.
Change Management:
- Lead change management initiatives related to process improvements, ensuring that all stakeholders are engaged and trained effectively.
- Act as a change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Budget & Cost Optimization:
- Partner with finance teams to develop budgets and manage operational costs.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality or performance.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Establish, lead, mentor, and manage a team focused on operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 8-12 years of experience in operations management, process improvement, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Certifications: Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), or similar process improvement methodologies are a plus.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of operational processes, OKR development, tracking, and optimization techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience with performance metrics, data analysis, and reporting.

Additional Information
Total compensation for this role (base plus bonus): $130,000-$180,000 depending on location and experience
