ROLE OVERIVEW
PURPOSE OF JOB
Oversee the effective management of a client handling team, ensuring a professional and comprehensive administration service is provided to existing and prospective clients and in line with strategic objectives set by the Group Board. The role reports into the Senior Director / Deputy Head of Private Client Services - Jersey within the department in Jersey.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Overall responsibility for the department’s management of an extensive and varied portfolio of clients through appropriate allocation of clients within the team and the monitoring of quality and accurate administration.
- Jointly responsible for the success of the business – able to strategically plan and proactively direct the team administration and workloads to meet the needs of the client.
- To deliver on integrated initiatives to promote the achievement of optimum operational, financial and business performance.
- Manage performance against agreed targets and budgets, thus ensuring the immediate team’s budgetary and performance targets are achieved and the appropriate KPIs are maintained as defined for financial, management and risk for the administered client portfolio.
- Through effective analysis and management of the team and its resulting performance, ensure knowledge gained is factored into the planning of the team’s strategy, resources and procedures as appropriate.
- Will be required to attend divisional and director team meetings and contribute in these forums.
- Fulfil the function of “Client Director” or “Senior Client Director” on appropriate client entities.
- Ensure good corporate governance in accordance with regulatory requirements while aligning to the Group’s overall aims, business plan and long-term strategy.
- Attend and lead client meetings, either on or off site. Liaise with professional advisors to ensure the Group delivers both a proficient and added value service.
- Develop, retain and enhance long term relationships with clients, their advisers, intermediaries and other introducers of work, maintaining a high level of client care.
- Effectively manage and accurately price new business enquiries, ensuring the resources and services provided by the Group are fully explained.
- Active participation at internal business development meetings; demonstrate an ability to identify new business opportunities and where possible introduce prospective new business to the Group.
- Advise and remain responsible for the complex aspects of a client portfolio and maintain knowledge of other division clients as appropriate, in order to nurture close working relationships with other associate directors, directors and employees of the Group.
- Provide any other duties as defined or deemed necessary by the Division’s senior management team.
- Adhere to Risk & Compliance procedures in relation to regulatory requirements and AML legislation.
- Be responsible for analysing, assessing and managing the risks associated with own portfolio of clients.
- Remain aware of the obligations for the reporting of unusual transactions and act as a guide to the immediate team in this respect.
- Act as an “A” signatory (subject to approval by appropriate Board and Committee).
- Develop, coach and mentor immediate team.
- Adhere to CPD requirements in accordance with qualification level and in-house procedures.
- Develop self and ensure knowledge in relevant field at all times.
- Adhere to the JTC core values and guiding principles.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in UHNW client relationships.
- Strong Management and Leadership skills.
- Willingness to impart knowledge and expertise with immediate team and more widely as appropriate.
- Experience at Director level on Complex Trust and Company Structures.
- 10 years+ experience within a similar role and hold a relevant Professional (Cat A) Qualification.
