Job Summary
The Leadership Development Office (LDO) for MBA Programs oversees a portfolio of developmental programs at the Booth School of Business. This includes an experiential class (LEAD) required of all MBA students. Other program offerings for the LDO include experiential workshops, events, and coaching. The LDO serves full-time, evening, and weekend students, and partners with colleagues to serve executive MBA students.
Each LDO team member plays a lead role in designing and delivering particular programmatic offerings. Additionally, each team member contributes to our full complement of programs through activities such as individual and team coaching, workshop facilitation, and classroom instruction. Finally, each team member owns a set of administrative responsibilities necessary to the success of the Office. All team members are part of a group that collectively manages all office activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the design and implementation of all co-curricular programming, including running the Empeiria Fellows Program for Full-Time, Evening, and Weekend MBA students.
- Manages LDO team members, supervising four Leadership Development Coaches and collaborating with team members across different silos.
- Manages institutional relationships, creating and sustaining successful partnerships with departments allied with our learning goals.
- Plays a lead role in the management of the LDO, collaborating with the Executive Director and other LDO team leads.
- Performs a mix of instruction, facilitation, and coaching as a member of the coaching team.
- Contributes to the overall quality of the student educational experience.
- Designs, delivers, and evaluates course content including workshops, retreats, and other events.
- Manages relationships with other MBA program and facilities staff.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certifications:
None required.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Master’s degree.
Experience:
- Helping individuals transfer the value of school-based learning to life and work beyond.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team and driving results through the work of others.
Certifications:
- Coach credentialing (e.g., BCC, ICF).
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Skillful in the use of virtual learning tools such as Zoom and Canvas.
Preferred Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of the logistical aspects of training, event, and meeting planning.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with colleagues, students, faculty, and corporate contacts.

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
- Communicate with tact and professional discretion.
Working Conditions
- Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to support particular programmatic offerings.
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
