The Associate Director of Payer Strategy and Marketing will develop and inform US market access strategies and tactics to support the successful launch and market evolution of a Sobi North America Immunology product. The Associate Director will lead the execution of key pre-launch & post-launch tactical initiatives related to US access stakeholders. This newly created role will report to the Director, Payer Strategy and Marketing.
This role will focus on collaborating with brand marketing team(s) and agency partners to develop tools and resources that support targeted customer segments (e.g., health plans, Medicare, Medicaid, federal, pharmacy, hospital, community practices, Group Purchasing Organizations, etc.). The role will also focus on building and executing innovative Pull Through tools and strategies to maximize product coverage opportunities. Additionally, this role will work closely with internal communications, pricing, policy, legal, health economics outcomes research, and Payer Accounts Teams and Reimbursement teams to ensure the successful implementation of key initiatives.
This is a remote position - candidates located on the US EAST COAST are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Sobi’s internal functions (Insight and Analytics, communications, medical affairs, brand marketing, Account Team and Field Reimbursement, etc.) and external agency partners to develop customer-specific strategies and execute them as appropriate to achieve access for patients and achieve business growth.
- Develop comprehensive payer/market access strategies in alignment with the brand strategy.
- Provide input into developing and executing launch initiatives, channel-specific strategies, and branded promotional initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally within our Company, including Payer Teams, Field Reimbursement Team, Insight and Analytics, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Compliance, Legal, and others to understand and build a value proposition for a rare disease medicine(s) that allows for access and reimbursement.
- Develop market access pull-through messages and resources to support field sales execution with HCPs.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive presentations to cross-functional partners and internal leadership on launch planning and status of key initiatives.
- Direct vendors and develop compelling and differentiated resources and customer education materials to communicate the payer value proposition and facilitate payer access for assigned product(s).
- Effectively manage agency relationships ensuring promotional programs are delivered on time and within budget.
- Perform all company business by regulations and company policies and procedures.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of (5) years combined experience in Pharmaceutical Marketing, Market Access Marketing, Market Access Strategy, Consulting, Managed Care, or Sales.
- Understanding of the US market access landscape and role of key access stakeholders (e.g., payers, distributors, group purchasing organizations (GPOs), integrated delivery networks (IDNs), etc).
- Understanding of the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals.
- Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical customer and industry marketing practices and trends.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and planning skills.
- Proactive nature and ability to manage change, anticipate risks, and design controls or mitigation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (written & verbal).
- Proficient at engaging diverse departments and roles and effectively engaging senior management.
- Strong judgment, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with an understanding of the broader context of corporate strategies.
- Comfort and confidence in working with diverse teams and backgrounds; routinely demonstrate inclusive behaviors; actively seek out diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Demonstrated understanding of healthcare trends and policy issues around pharmacy and medical benefits and their potential impact on the company's business opportunities.
- Able to accommodate up to 20% Travel.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience developing and implementing a brand marketing or access marketing strategy.
- Managed care/payer marketing experience preferred.
- Understanding of US product pricing and contracting concepts.
- Have taken assets through pharmaceutical manufacturer internal review (e.g., Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review) processes.
- Access customer-facing experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience launching and/or leading medical benefit drug(s).
The base salary pay range for this role is $144,000-$195,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
