Our client is a private equity-owned manufacturing company. They are looking for a hands-on CFO who will drive accounting, management reporting, budgeting/forecasting, technology, and business processes towards maximum performance. The CFO will be responsible for accounting/financial reporting, cost accounting, audit oversight, financial planning and budgeting, treasury/cash management, tax compliance, capital expenditure planning, and debt financing. This person will lead the communication of financial information to the board and shareholders and provide strong leadership throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees inventory and other plant cost systems to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Directs the development and generation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPI and cost reports and balance scorecards.
- Directs and performs monthly review of actual results versus budget and prior periods, identifying trends and cost concerns.
- Recommends benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance.
- Conducts cost analysis and product pricing.
- Directs and prepares all company budgets, projections, and forecasts.
- Provides analysis assistance for capital expenditures.
- Monitors and analyzes monthly operating results against budget.
- Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations and product pricing decisions.
- Oversees daily operations of the finance and accounting department.
- Leads communication of financials to the board and shareholders.
- Establishes financial policies, practices, and procedures for the company in accordance with GAAP.
- Works with audit firm's assurance and tax team to plan and execute the annual audit and tax return filings.
- Manages any audits required by federal or state taxing agencies.
- Identifies potential tax planning and tax savings ideas.
- Oversees and performs ongoing accounting process improvement.
- Manages cash flow requirements.
- Maintains banking relationships and manages daily banking activity.
- Maintains adequate insurance related to property and equipment, product liability, and workers’ compensation.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Hands-on CFO/Controller with leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
- A team player who possesses a deep understanding of manufacturing and construction.
- 10+ years total experience required; 5 years minimum with a privately held entrepreneurial company in a financial leadership role.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
