What we’re seeking:
Frontier Communications is looking for a talented and passionate IT Software Solution Architect to help drive the company’s transformation to a leading digital provider of fiber internet services. This talented individual will help drive this transformation as a key member of the Enterprise Integration team. The role will have the opportunity to help define the vision of turning Frontier into a 100% uptime, consumer-oriented company by helping guide system direction and solutions that fulfill those goals.
This architect will be responsible for helping to drive Frontier’s API interfaces, to be best in class. They will provide architectural design for projects and should have a passion for sharing and helping the development teams to implement industry best practices and design patterns. The position will require extensive expertise and experience in middle-tier, and backend development working with multiple technologies.
What you’ll do:
- Leading the design and architecture of complex software applications and systems, ensuring that they meet the business requirements and are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
- Defining technical strategies and roadmaps for software development projects in collaboration with other senior engineers and stakeholders.
- Evaluating new and emerging technologies and making recommendations on their use to improve the performance, reliability, and maintainability of software applications and systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design solutions, and implement new features.
- Developing and maintaining solutions architecture documents, including high-level flow diagrams, UML sequence diagrams, C4 design diagrams, ERDs, and technical specifications.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
- Reviewing and approving solution designs, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices.
- Communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior/executive leadership.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks associated with software development projects.
- Participating in agile software development processes, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Ability to work across nearshore and offshore team members and flexibility with working hours.
What background you should have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in software development.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing complex software applications.
- Proven track record of successfully leading integration projects from conception to delivery.
- Deep expertise with multiple iPaaS, Integration Middleware, ESBs, and API management platforms (such as TIBCO, MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM ESB, Kafka/RedPanda) is required.
- Design and implement API management solutions using Apigee or API Connect or open-source API Gateways.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or others relevant to integration.
- In-depth knowledge of messaging protocols, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Experience in evaluating and selecting integration tools, platforms, and vendors.
- Previous experience in defining and implementing integration architectures.
- Expertise in software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
- Experience with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and services, preferably AWS including distributed caching services such as Redis.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
- Experience with major RDBMs and NoSql database technologies.
- Experience working on digital modernization projects.
- Strong leadership skills and experience leading technical projects from inception through implementation.
What we offer:
- Salary Range: $67,000 - $177,000 per year.
