Overview
Presbyterian Homes & Services is hiring a Fitness Director for our Gracepointe Crossing and Riverwood Village Community. The Fitness Director provides overall leadership of the fitness center and aquatic services at each assigned site. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, evaluating, and effectively directing the fitness staff and program in order to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care and services consistent with regulations and established best practices of the fitness function at PHS. This includes managing and leading a team of fitness instructors and fitness staff as well as providing direct services to the residents.
This position collaborates with the Site Leader to achieve site fitness goals and objectives.
Salary Range: Starting at $53,040+/annually (Based on Experience)
Reporting Structure
The Fitness Director reports to a PHS Management and Services designee. The Fitness Director directly supervises Fitness/Aquatic Instructors, Lifeguards, and other fitness staff. This position also oversees the use of contracted services, volunteers, and students for fitness programming.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide overall leadership of the fitness center and aquatic services for all assigned sites. Plan, organize, evaluate and effectively direct the fitness staff and program in order to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care and services consistent with regulations and established best practices of the fitness function at PHS.
- Oversee the implementation of the fitness program to include: assessment, orientation, implementation, education, and evaluation of fitness programming for each resident’s unique need, as well as provide direct services to the residents.
- Achieve fitness goals at the site and organizational level through effective collaboration with management and site functions.
- Ensure clean and safe operating conditions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards by maintaining the fitness center, equipment, and pool(s).
- Manage and lead a team of fitness instructors and fitness staff.
- Support the integration of Christian Culture in fitness operations.
Qualifications
- Must possess a college degree in Physical Therapy, Physical Education, Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition & Fitness, Recreation Therapy or related fields. Certification in American Council of Exercise (ACE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or related groups is required.
- Must have at least two years of experience in personal training, aquatic exercise, fitness training, physical therapy, or related areas. Demonstrate competencies in aquatics and dry-land exercise instruction, class instructions, class development, program management, and client assessment. Demonstrated experience in working with seniors in the area of fitness is desirable.
- Must have life-saving skills training and certification such as CPR, WSL or the like.
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to provide quality resident services and maintain sound operations.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other providers, staff, family and residents in meeting resident needs.
- Demonstrated compatibility with PHS's mission and operating philosophies.
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
