The clinical nurse practitioner is a self-directed specialist with advanced knowledge, skills and competence in general medicine and/or specialty in psychiatry.

What You'll Be Doing:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills necessary to independently provide care to patients within the specialty of psychiatry.
- Provides direct care to patients and families with complex psychiatric needs and stable medical conditions in accordance with established protocols and procedures in the crisis stabilization unit. This will include rounding on patients on a daily basis.
- Recommend appropriate internal/external referrals and effectively utilize available community resources; assists patients, families, and staff to do the same.
- Demonstrates concise interviewing skills and an ability to formulate psychiatric differential diagnosis.
- Demonstrates familiarity with a variety of psychiatric interventions but with a particular familiarity in the appropriate use of psychotropics.
- Demonstrates competency in documenting pertinent patient data in the medical record consistent with CCA expectations.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with and across disciplines which includes meeting with the team on a daily basis.
- Delivers care in a manner consistent with the mission of Commonwealth Care Alliance.
- Utilizes quality improvement data to enhance patient care.
- Provide clinical care to members via telehealth technologies (video, chat, etc.) for clinically appropriate clinical care and care management services.
- Provides education and/or clinical updates to the medical teams in primary care, iCMP, HICM care delivery programs.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid remote, community, standard office conditions.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education (must have):
Master's Degree or equivalent experience.
Required Licensing (must have):
- Nurse Practitioner - Current License to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded role.
- DEA and Massachusetts Controlled substance certification.
MA Health Enrollment (required if licensed in Massachusetts):
Yes, this is required if the incumbent is licensed in Massachusetts.
Required Experience (must have):
5 + years.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (must have):
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Organizational skills to set priorities and effectively complete assigned work.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the patient populations served.
- Physical ability to meet the core job responsibility in accordance with practice setting demands for the patient population regularly served.
- Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various members of the health care team, patients, and families.
- Willing to learn and utilize telehealth technologies (video, chat, etc.), when appropriate, for a variety of clinical care and care management services.
