Summary
The Advisor, Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a pivotal role in aligning Save the Children's strategic objectives with our workforce and fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. You will serve as a consultant to management on workforce-related issues and collaborate with People & Culture (P&C) Centers of Expertise (COE) to deliver value-driven support, services and solutions. Your expertise in policies, legal compliance, and best practices will guide managers and employees in strategic planning, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development. This role requires a strong understanding of HR practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, global environment.
What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
Strategic Consulting (30%)
- Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to internal clients on HR and workforce matters, reframing business issues to focus on talent and employee experience.
- Understand the financial and operational context of the organization, including budgetary constraints, revenue generation processes, and their impact on workforce needs.
- Analyze HR data, metrics and trends to provide data-driven insights that influence strategic business decisions.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and state requirements.
Employee Relations and Engagement (30%)
- Address employee relations issues proactively, providing guidance to managers and employees on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.
Talent Management (20%)
- Collaborate with P&C COE (Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, etc.) and other Departments (Finance, IT, etc.) to support the design and execution of talent management strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance employee experience throughout the employee life cycle.
- Collaborating with senior divisional management to adapt and implement HR programs focused on leadership and workforce development, performance management, and talent review and mobility.
Organizational Design and Change Management (20%)
- Support divisional leadership in designing organizational structures that align with Agency and divisional strategies.
- Assist in managing organizational changes, providing guidance and support to employees and managers to facilitate smooth transitions, ensuring HR perspectives and compliance with agency procedures and legal standards are considered.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably as an HR generalist or business partner
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams across different geographies
- Agile mindset with a willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement
- High level of emotional intelligence, discretion, and integrity
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
Preferred Qualifications
- S/PHR or SHRM-S/CP certification
- Global HR experience
- French and or Spanish language skills
- Prior non-profit experience
Compensation
Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:
- Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $84,150 - $94,050 base salary
- Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $76,500 - $85,500 base salary
- Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $68,850 - $76,950 base salary
The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
