Our client, a pioneering neuro-AI company founded in 2019, focuses on developing technologies that synchronize sensory and motor neural signals. One of their key innovations is a wearable device designed to provide all-day relief for adults with movement disorders, which is currently being evaluated in a pivotal clinical study. Additionally, the company is working on implantable peripheral nerve systems for intuitive end-effector control and pain management. They have received two simultaneous FDA Breakthrough Device Designations for their implantable systems, with one of their nerve-computer interface technologies accepted into the FDA’s Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program (TAP). With a commitment to advancing Neuro-AI technologies, the company aims to leverage these breakthroughs to enhance human well-being and is looking for a Medical Director to join along for the journey.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Director to join this team. The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the clinical strategy, providing medical expertise, and ensuring the safety and efficacy of our AI-powered neurological medical technologies. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of clinical expertise in neurology and a passion for innovation in healthcare technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Leadership: Provide strategic medical direction and leadership in the development and clinical implementation of our neurological medical technologies. Work closely with R&D, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams to ensure clinical excellence.
- Clinical Strategy & Development: Contribute to clinical development, including clinical trial design, protocol development, and implementation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with regulatory affairs to ensure all products meet local and international regulatory standards and guidelines. Review clinical documentation for regulatory submissions (e.g., FDA, CE mark).
- Medical Affairs & Communication: Serve as the medical spokesperson for the company, both internally and externally. Provide medical input into marketing strategies and materials. Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, clinical experts, and healthcare professionals in the field of neurology.
- Safety & Risk Management: Oversee the monitoring of product safety and post-market surveillance activities. Contribute to the development of risk management plans and participate in safety reviews.
- Clinical Education & Training: Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams and external healthcare professionals on the use and clinical benefits of our devices.
- Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of the latest developments in neurology and medical AI technologies. Identify opportunities for new product development and clinical research.
Qualifications:- MD or DO degree with a specialization in Neurology.
- Board certification in Neurology or equivalent clinical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical practice and/or clinical research.
- Experience with movement disorders is preferred.
- Experience within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
- Experience with regulatory submissions and knowledge of medical device regulations (e.g., FDA, EMA, MHRA) is a plus.
- Experience with AI-driven technologies or an understanding of the intersection of AI and clinical practice is a plus.
- A track record of publication in peer-reviewed medical journals and presentation at medical conferences.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Self-starter, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.

$200,000 - $250,000 a year
