CT Scan - Diagnostic Radiologic Technician
Job Description:
- Perform a variety of specialized radiographic exams for patients at a medical center, utilizing advanced imaging equipment and techniques.
- Conduct procedures including but not limited to: cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions, coronary stent placement, coronary atherectomy, coronary flow evaluation, valvuloplasty, fluoroscopic imaging, intravascular coronary ultrasound, ventriculography, electrophysiology testing, radiofrequency ablation, endomyocardial biopsy, temporary and permanent pacemaker implantation, automated cardioverter-defibrillator implantation, Swan Ganz catheter placement, pericardiocentesis, tilt table testing, renal, carotid, iliac, visceral and peripheral angiography, and venograms interventional radiography.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, providing clear instructions and reassurance as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of imaging services.
- Adhere to established protocols and procedures for radiation safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
- Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine maintenance and participating in quality assurance activities.
- Document procedures accurately in electronic medical records and other relevant systems.
Skills/Experience:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI, X-Rays, Fluoroscopy, CT, Echo, Cath Lab, Mammography, PET, and Electroneurodiagnostic (or eligible for certification with completion within six months of hire).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT technologist, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Proficiency in performing specialized radiographic procedures, with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- All candidates will be subjected to a background/security investigation and must also pass a pre-employment physical exam.
Degree Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
Certification Requirements:
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI, X-Rays, Fluoroscopy, CT, Echo, Cath Lab, Mammography, PET, and Electroneurodiagnostic (or eligible for certification with completion within six months of hire).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved provider.
