Title: Interim Associate Chief Nursing Officer
Location: Boston, MA 02130
Duration: 13 Weeks (could extend)
Shift: Full-time, 8 hr. Day shifts
Summary:
Under the supervision of the CNO, plans, organizes, directs and evaluates Nursing Care services for Department of Public Health patients and clients. Works in collaboration with DMH, DMR, DOC, in addition to the ACNO of Ancillary Services and DON for the Inpatient Psychiatric Units of LSH along with other state agencies and the community to ensure nursing services at the hospital meet established standards. Oversees the hospital’s extensive patient care services division including nursing services, continuing care, dialysis, Operating Room, PACU, GI Suite, Central Supply Room; and patient transportation. Provides leadership in clinical direction to nursing departments. Responsible for ensuring utilization and delivery of all nursing services and for carrying out a high-quality cost-effective nursing program that benefits inpatient and outpatient healthcare needs of our patient populations.
Experience:
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of nursing
- Five or more years of demonstrated experience in hospital/health care or public/government management or a related field, of which at least three must have been in a senior managerial capacity. Positions should reflect progressive growth of responsibilities.
DECISIONS YOU MAKE:
- Authority on all patient care issues as well as hiring and terminating employees, resource allocation, nursing policy and procedure.
- Collaborate on quality management policies, procedures and protocols to satisfy federal and state regulators as well as JC and CMS standards.
- Collaborate with leadership on all major hospital initiatives: Strategic planning, Professional staff recruitment initiatives, Plan, Program Development.
- Decide levels and types of staff to be utilized in patient care areas to effectively and efficiently render appropriate care to patients.
- Oversee nursing departments to ensure standards of care are met.
- Evaluate patient needs for service provisions based on analysis of population characteristics.
RECOMMENDATIONS YOU PROPOSE:
- Major organizational/operational improvements.
- Recommend strategic plans, performance improvement plans and program development.
- Develop and implement recommendations on staffing, policy and procedure revisions, and operations throughout the hospital.

Pay: $100.00 - $105.00 per hour
