Surgical Technicians with 2 years of experience or more (.9 and above) are eligible for a 14K sign-on bonus paid at 90 days. This bonus is available to newly hired external applicants (current AAH Team Members are not eligible at this time).
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 10-hour shifts, Days 7a-5p, rotating weekends and holidays, and mandatory call.
Position Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED.
- Graduate of a Scrub Technician program or 1-2 years of experience in an operating room with skills competencies in general gynecology, orthopedics, and surgery.
- Good communication skills.
- Team player.
- Good time management.
- Ability to independently perform scrub duties.
- Certification as a certified scrub tech within two years of hire date.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases and radiation.
- This position needs to recognize needs and behaviors of specific age groups of patients treated.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 or 50 pounds frequently and/or lifting 10 to 20 pounds constantly).
- Ability to stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to cooperate and work well with others.
- Ability to communicate with a mask on and not facing others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
- Ability to work designated shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to assume on-call responsibility per department guidelines and work as a team member in a high-stress environment.
- If the position has direct patient care or direct patient contact, the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
- For patient lifts of over 35 pounds or when the patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used with at least one other associate when available.
- Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
