Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Systems Engineer with expertise in rapid prototyping of stand-alone sensing system design, analysis, and test. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering principles, with a focus on long range Electro Optical surveillance systems, as well as experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects at the forefront of technology, contributing to the development of next-generation systems. Locations in order of preference: Centreville, VA, Dayton, OH, and Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and test Electro Optical systems, and physical support environment to allow stand-alone operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define physical and functional system requirements, architectures, and specifications.
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to develop system models, simulations, and analyses.
- Perform trade studies and optimization analyses to identify the most effective design solutions.
- Conduct system integration, validation, and verification activities to ensure performance requirements are met.
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer engagements to communicate progress and findings effectively.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related systems engineering field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on prototyping, system integration, analysis, and test.
- Strong proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies such as SysML, CAMEO, ModelCenter, and Moxie.
- Experience with simulation and modeling software such as MATLAB, Simulink, Zmax or similar tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in Electro Optical sensing system design and testing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with software development for control and automation of Electro Optical systems.
- Familiarity with relevant technologies such as LiDAR, infrared imaging, and laser systems.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and validation.
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
Global Compensation
$120,000 - $150,000. This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location, and other factors.
