Description:
The Information System Security Engineer should have 5+ years of experience and be at a mid-level. The candidate should possess strong skills in performing and verifying backups, restoring files, and managing user accounts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn from senior-level administrators and collaborate closely with Cyber Security resources to ensure the system's security posture are essential. The candidate must have participated in a security control assessment and be familiar with the creation and implementation of DISA STIGs, POA&Ms, and the ATO process. Additionally, the candidate should be able to complete a broad range of hands-on technical tasks.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Support the Navy's ATO accreditation as a subject matter expert with analyzing security scans organizational policies, and performing continuous monitoring.
- Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
- Recommend cybersecurity measures that provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
- Support the Government in the enforcement of the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
- Participate in the policy and documentation writing supporting the Navy's RMF process.
- Participate in the change management process, including reviewing Change Requests and assisting in the assessment of security impact of proposed changes.
- Perform continuous monitoring of authorized systems.
- Experience with analyzing test results and validating controls.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in IT, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering, or similar field of study, additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8570.1 / DoD 8140.01 (IAT II Level) certification (SEC+).
- Background experience implementing Navy RMF process.
- Experience using various tools (ACAS, eMass, STIG Viewer, eMasster, Microsoft EXCEL).
- Experience with Navy RMF, NIST SP800-53.
