The Strategic Planning Team acts as an internal consulting group focused on developing growth-oriented strategies across MUSC. This includes working with system C-suite senior leaders, University Leaders, Colleges, Regional Health Network hospitals and specific service lines, developing value-oriented strategies to guide transformative population health initiatives, and exploring business development opportunities with new potential partners. Our department’s mission is to provide valued strategic insights, trusted advice, and skill execution that elevate MUSC’s impact in South Carolina and position it as one of the nation's preeminent academic health care systems.

Job Description
The Strategic Planning Director provides leadership in supporting these objectives. This position will consistently interact with system leaders at all levels of the organization and will serve as a strategy liaison to clinical leadership, hospital executives, University leadership, and others across MUSC. Leads challenging multi-month engagements on projects such as:
- Strategic planning for the MUSC enterprise-wide and strategically important regions across the state.
- Strategic planning for Regional Network Hospitals and Colleges (e.g., College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, etc.)
- Service line and specialty program strategies, including analysis of performance, evaluation of competitive position, and development of strategic options.
- Evaluation of strategies required to succeed in value-based care and population health.
- Development of business plans or financial models for opportunities such as new partnerships, ambulatory and facility planning, and high priority strategic initiatives.
Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor's Degree required (Masters Preferred)
Equivalent Work Experience: 8 years progressive work experience and 4 years management experience.
