Description
We are a small independent charity working in neighbourhoods across Gloucester/shire, looking for motivated and skilled individuals to join our board as a Charity Director / Trustee to support the charity in its next stage of growth and development. In the short term, we will be undertaking a change in our monitoring and evaluation process to include Theory of Change, enabling us to demonstrate the impact this organization is having in the communities we serve. This role involves strategic thinking and influencing project leadership and management.
As a Charity Director / Trustee, are you able to think creatively, problem-solve, speak your mind, and commit to attending one evening/morning meeting per month? Knowledge of our key themes would be a bonus, as would experience or expertise in management, finance, marketing, or running a business, and/or an interest in the themed areas we work in.
We are also looking to support new Charity Directors / Trustees who may have an interest and have not been trustees before, especially from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities. We prioritize addressing equality, diversity, and inclusion this year, which will help our Board make more balanced decisions. Equality and diversity are effective and sustainable only if the Board works to be inclusive, ensuring that all trustees are welcomed, valued, and able to contribute.
Preferred Skills
We are particularly looking for trustees with expertise in either of the following:
- Financial management and small business accounting with a view to becoming Treasurer.
- Marketing and communications expertise to support us with sharing our impact;
- Understanding of the benefit system, advocacy, and debt advice.
Our priority is seeking new trustees to join our experienced board who have a zest for getting involved with our small but impactful charity. We are looking for those who can champion key themes to ensure financial robustness, improve our communications, or champion our advice services. You will need to think creatively, problem-solve, speak your mind, and commit to attending one evening meeting per month.
