THE JOB / Account Director, Client Services (LAC Sponsorship Marketing) (Payment Services Client)
CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.
***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates in Miami. We are open to hybrid work (3 days week in office) in one of our office locations – Stamford, CT; New York, NY; or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates with East Coast working hours as a prerequisite.
Our client is an award-winning global Payment Technology brand known for their iconic brand marketing position and initiatives. Their sponsorship programming covers various properties, ambassadors, and segments, showcasing their diversity and market strength.
The Account Director will contribute to the strategic evolution and growth of the client’s sponsorship portfolio to support key initiatives across global sponsored properties and ambassadors in the payment services category! This position requires providing leadership and day-to-day support to our global team’s delivery of intuitive client service, concept and presentation development, strategic planning and development, project management, agency integration, and measurement of sponsorship initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has experience activating major sponsorship programs, coupled with a customer-centric mentality possessing the social savvy required to work across multiple marketing disciplines. This position is best suited for a candidate passionate about working in a team environment with a diverse group of people from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
- Build and cultivate positive client and agency relationships
- Become an authority on our clients’ business and the Financial Services category
- Support development of sponsorship portfolio strategy, strategic executive presentations, tracking & reporting tools for sponsorship portfolio analytics & data, and project management of client assignments
- Assess and provide ongoing guidance to client on regional sponsorship portfolio construction and utilization
- Manage global ambassador relationship and utilization across regions
- Assist with the development and execution of integrated sponsorship initiatives and campaigns using client’s sponsorship portfolio and assets
- Management and integration of client’s sponsorship portfolio to support key strategic initiatives and activations
- Lead the creation of key presentations and documents to include regional property summaries, activation plans, RFP’s, competitive reports, and recaps
- Evolve processes and systems to track requests and utilization of contractual assets for regional sponsorship programs, ambassadors and global integration opportunities
- Evaluate and provide POV’s on sponsorship and ambassador proposals and opportunities
- Develop trends and best practices documents to distribute internally and to clients
- Provide internal and client updates as needed
- Keep up on cultural moments across sport around the globe
- Supervise staff and/or interns in the implementation of programs, projects and events
- Further promote synergies amongst regions and lead multi-regional integration efforts throughout programming in support of owned properties
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Have a passion for sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
- 6+ years of experience working with sponsorship properties, leagues, teams/clubs, ambassadors and/or influencers
- A strong understanding of the sports sponsorship space required
- Capacity to become knowledgeable on our client’s industry, brand, and product offering
- Experience in creating exceptional integrated marketing programming in a client-facing role
- Previous work experience across a combination of strategic, logistical and tactical projects
- Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, and willingness to learn – intellectually curious
- Superior organizational skills with demonstrated initiative, ability to effectively problem solve and work effectively under pressure
- Strong self-starter with excellent team dynamics; exceptional sense to be proactive and jump in wherever needed
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team while also able to solve problems effectively and independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Excellent digital literacy, master of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in multiple languages a plus
- Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel is up to 30%.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base range for this position is $70,000 – 90,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company; as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
