Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business/Functional Analyst to support the Surface Transportation Board (STB) with a primary focus on the Uniform Railroad Costing System (URCS). The URCS is integral to the STB's mission, as it provides essential estimates of the variable costs associated with railroad movements. The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing, designing, and implementing business processes and functional improvements within the URCS framework.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement within the URCS.
- Develop and document detailed functional requirements for system enhancements and new features.
- Work with IT teams to design and implement system enhancements and improvements to the URCS.
- Ensure that all system changes align with the STB's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must have problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, organization skills, and initiative, communication.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business/Functional Analyst, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Pass a background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
The salary range for this position is $97,000 to $140,000 per year.
