Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our talented Professional Services team. The successful candidate will serve as the key technical resource leading the configuration, development, support, and maintenance of the ServiceNow implementation. The successful candidate will have fluency in ServiceNow design and development principles that enables them to work with external development partners and key stakeholders to develop enterprise business solutions for our customers that leverage ITIL processes and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Senior application developer responsible for developing applications on the ServiceNow platform using industry best practices.
- Responsible for analyzing business requirements and business processes by working closely with the Requirements analysts and clients.
- Provide technical oversight during the requirements gathering process.
- Collaborate with Product Owner and the Platform Architect to provide ServiceNow design/development support.
- Design and develop solutions within the ServiceNow environment to include new or modifications to applications, forms, workflows, UI Actions/Policies, ACLs, interfaces, and any other configurations required to support client needs.
- Perform hands-on technical development work based on assigned user stories; conduct unit testing for each story assigned.
- Develop custom script-includes when necessary.
- Migrate update sets between environments and batch update-sets for production deployments.
- Build APIs to integrate ServiceNow DB with other systems/applications within the organization.
- Able to successfully troubleshoot bugs and defects by working closely with the development team.
- Work in an Agile team environment and participate in Story pointing, Sprint planning and other SCRUM ceremonies.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS/BA in a related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Business Management preferred) or alternate degree with relevant IT experience.
- ServiceNow Administrator Certification.
- ServiceNow Application Developer and/or Implementation Specialist Certification.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of direct development experience with the ServiceNow platform.
- In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow platform administration, development, security, data management, and integrations.
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions consistent with architectural standards and ServiceNow best practices.
- Must be eligible to meet government eligibility requirements.
- Experience configuring ServiceNow ITSM or ITBM or HRSD or Security Operations applications.
Preferred:
- Experience with web technologies such as DHTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, HTTP and JavaScripts.
- Previous Federal Consulting Experience Preferred.
- Previous experience configuring and customizing of ServiceNow Platform like: UI Actions, UI Policy, UI Pages, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Include Scripts, Catalog Client Scripts, Catalog UI Policies, Email Scripts, Scripted Web Services, Rest API web services, Roles / Groups.
- Understanding and experience related to advanced ServiceNow development, including the following:
- Browser events, best practices in JavaScript coding, style sheets, jQuery.
- The Glide Stack, Jelly scripts along with SN extensions, server-side JavaScript.
- Database relationships, views, query definition, before/after business rules.
