ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
As the Head of Design at Locke Solutions, you will spearhead the engineering department at our precast concrete manufacturing plant. This pivotal role requires a talented and seasoned Civil Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of engineers and designers, efficiently manage workflow and priorities, and ensure our products meet the highest quality standards, exceeding customer service expectations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers, setting goals, managing performance and progress, providing feedback, and managing resources.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities, ensuring their professional development and success.
Design and Quality Management:
- Oversee the design process for all projects, including concept development, modeling, detailing, and documentation.
- Work closely with the team to ensure that products meet quality standards and customer service expectations.
Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive implementation across all teams.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
Project Management:
- Ensure that engineering projects are completed on time, while adapting to changing priorities.
- Prepare regular management reports to showcase team performance, project progress, and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Lead meetings and discussions with the design engineering team and other cross-functional teams as needed to achieve business goals.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in the precast concrete industry.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of engineers and designers.
- Strong understanding of design principles, modeling, and detailing processes.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
