Our client, a leading multinational grocery chain with operations across multiple countries, is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to join their executive team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a major player in the global retail industry.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax, and investor relations. The CFO will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives while ensuring financial stability and compliance across all international operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the CEO and other executives to drive the company's overall strategy and performance
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes across all global operations
- Manage the company's capital structure and funding strategies, including relationships with banks and other financial institutions
- Lead financial risk management efforts, including foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity price risks
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements across all operating countries
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, regulatory filings, and tax returns
- Lead investor relations activities, including communications with shareholders, analysts, and potential investors
- Manage the finance, accounting, and treasury teams across multiple countries
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including mergers, acquisitions, and new market entries
- Oversee the company's real estate portfolio and strategy
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent is a bonus
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles
- Significant experience in the retail or consumer goods industry, preferably with international operations
- Strong understanding of financial markets, capital markets, and international financial regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Proven track record of driving financial performance and implementing strategic initiatives
- Experience in managing complex, multi-country finance operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with digital transformation and e-commerce finance
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives
