Description:
The RedHat Linux administrator should have 5+ years of experience and be at a mid-level. They should be able to perform and verify backups, restore files, and manage user accounts. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable learning from senior level administrators, and coordinate with Cyber Security resources to ensure the system's security posture. They should have participated in a security control assessment and be familiar with the creation and implementation of DISA STIGs, POA&Ms, and the ATO process. The administrator should be able to complete a broad range of hands-on technical tasks that include:
- Required Skills:
- Active Directory Domain and Azure Tenant
- RHEL connected to AD via LDAP and/or secure LDAP
- Experience with certificates
- VM, volume and disk encryption a plus
- Hybrid hosting environment, mid-size on prem, leverages cloud, etc.
- Must have deployed from the template on prem
- Automated patching and hardening
- Basic understanding of VLAN's and networks
- Experience with HCI is a strong plus, Microsoft HCI, Nutanix, VSAN / VX Rail
- ACAS experience
- Install, configure, maintain Linux/RedHat/Ubuntu
- Linux VM's and virtual appliances
- Patching experience
- Ansible experience
- AD integration using LDAP
- Security best practices (STIGS)
- Automation for VM deployments
- General command line usage and syntax.
- Use of sudo and handling limited root user tasks.
- Implement and document security standards.
- Knowledge of backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
- Good understanding of permissions and user management.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
- Interface with other teams to solve problems.
Nice to have:
- Deployed RHEL on Hyper-V and/or Azure Stack HCI
- Experience with Hyperconverged infra (HCI: S2D, Nutanix, VSAN)
- Apply hardening techniques and RHEL STIGs.
* Apply RHEL Patches monthly to maintain strong security posture.
